With its pristine beaches, cafes and shady, Norfolk pines, Cottesloe is renowned for its relaxing lifestyle. Located directly adjacent to the beach, Marine Parade is a buzzing boulevard of restaurants, cafes & bars. We express our architectural identity through strong architectural forms, qualities of light and shadow, material composition and spatial relationship. We believe in celebrating warm, welcoming and liveable buildings. All our designs focus on passive solar design principles which create natural and honest living spaces both inside and out. Material use varies from earthy and raw to crisp and minimalist and we are guided by our clients and their taste. We believe this creates spaces that are not only truly bespoke, but individually crafted to our clients’ needs.

The proposal features soft curves reminiscent of its coastal surrounds, wrapped in handmade ceramic tiling that will emulate the ocean that lies just across the foreshore; blue and green hues shimmering in the sun that capture the reflections of the sea and sky. The ground floor cafe and podium is treated in a textured stone, creating a hierarchy and dynamic façade, punctured by a curved opening and sheltered by a continuous, concrete canopy. This architectural gesture leads people into and through the development. The combination of building articulation, various architectural elements and changes in texture, material and colour achieve rhythm and visual interest.
